Fox & Friends Backs SEAL Accused of Shooting Little Girl: ‘These Are the Good Guys’
Fox & Friends celebrated news that President Donald Trump is considering pardons for several servicemen accused of war crimes in time for Memorial Day.
The New York Times reported on Saturday that Trump has requested expedited paperwork indicating “he is considering pardons for several American military members accused or convicted of war crimes, including high-profile cases of murder, attempted murder and desecration of a corpse, according to two United States officials.”
Those servicemen include Navy SEAL Edward Gallagher, who has been accused by fellow SEALs of a series of war crimes, including shooting a school-age girl and an old man with a sniper rifle. In 2017, SEALs told investigators, Gallagher walked up to a teenage ISIS fighter being treated by medics and stabbed the prisoner to death with a hunting knife. One senior SEAL said he routinely parked an armored truck near villages “and emptied the truck’s heavy machine gun into neighborhoods on the other side with no discernible targets.” His trial is set for the end of May.
On Fox & Friends Sunday, host Pete Hegseth took issue with the Times describing those alleged deeds as “war crimes.”
“These are men who went into the most dangerous places on earth with a job to defend us and made tough calls on a moment’s notice,” Hegseth said.
“They’re not war criminals,” Hegseth continued. “They’re warriors who have now been accused of certain things that are under review.”
Trump is reportedly also considering pardons for Maj. Mathew Golsteyn, an Army Green Beret accused of killing an unarmed Afghan; A group of Marines accused of urinating on dead Taliban fighters; and Nicholas Slatten, a Blackwater security contractor and the only person convicted of the 2007 massacre of 14 unarmed Iraqis, including ten women, two men and two children.
“I think this will be a very unifying force in favor of what [Trump’s] doing,” Fox & Friends weekend host Jedidah Bilah said. “I mean, if there’s one thing that unites people around the country, it is a love of our military and a love for those who have served.”
“This should be a uniting issue,” Hegseth said. “But the left is going to attack him for this, saying he’s releasing war criminals, he’s loosening the rules of engagement, our men and women are willy nilly killing civilians — it’s all garbage.”
“To the people in middle America, who respect the troops and the tough calls they make, they’re going to love this. These are the good guys. These are the war fighters. And making a move like this by Memorial Day would be — I would be — wow, amazing.”
So one supposes Fox & Friends consider these men to be heroes because they show they can kill unarmed civilians with no compunction. So too, Trump thinks murderers should walk free, that if their victims are only Muslim civilians no big deal, right?
OBAMA is not a foreign born, brown skinned, anti war socialist who gives away health care. YOU'RE THINKING OF JESUS.
